QE2 final home revealed

The world famous cruise liner, QE2, is readying herself for her final home as part of a luxurious marina development in Dubai. She will be permanently berthed on the eastern side of Palm Jumeirah in November as the key point in a ‘palatial pier’ reaching 300 metres out from the trunk into the waters of the Gulf. A grand entrance will lead to a luxury residential and hotel quarter, with apartments, a private club, bars, restaurants, shops and gardens. QE2 will be turned into an ultra-luxury floating hotel with a heritage museum displaying original artefacts from the ship. The QE2 has circumnavigated the world 25 times, crossed the Atlantic over 800 times and carried more than 2.5 million passengers, including kings, queens, prime ministers, presidents, and The Beatles.
