Fly-cruise, one thing you have to know

An increasing issue with fly-cruise passengers is the question of suitcase padlocks. Few Brits seem to know that they must have special locks or padlocks when travelling through, or to, the USA and their luggage is being held back as a result. If you are flying into, or even through, an American airport, you must use cases fitted with TSA-approved locks (those that the Transportation Security Administration has the tools to open) or a TSA-approved padlock or luggage strap. While our technology allows us to electronically screen bags, there are times when we need to physically inspect a piece of luggage. TSA has worked with several companies to develop locks that can be opened by security officers using universal "master" keys so that the locks may not have to be cut. These locks are available at airports and travel stores nationwide. The packaging on the locks indicates whether they can be opened by TSA.'
