Carnival changes stateroom categories

Carnival Cruise Line is re-designating stateroom categories so they give a better sense of each room in terms of windows, balconies and their exact location on board ship. It seems that staterooms will now be graded differently on upper and lower decks even though the actual cabin sizes and fittings are the same. The idea is allow passengers to make their preferred location and type of cabin choice more easily and it does also mean that a prime location cabin will cost slightly more than the identical one in a slightly less popular position. Carnival Valor is already gearing up to take books on this grading format with the remainder of the fleet following before the end of the year.
