The great thing about the RCI programme is that you become a membership after your first sailing and then the club offers discounts and benefits according to the number of cruise credits obtained. Basically these are calculated by the number of days at sea but are multiplied by the cabin grade you sail in, so this is one place where upgrades really count. And there’s another benefit to this scheme it offers you an equivalent ‘credit’ which can be used in the Celebrity Cruises membership club. The four tiers of membership are gold, platinum, diamond and diamond +. Gold members get nice little onboard treats like complimentary wine tastings and usually a commemorative gift on each cruise as well as online booking discounts. As membership level increases members get priority check-in and priority services on limited opportunities such as spa treatments or shore excursions.
