At present, smoking is allowed indoors in certain Fred OIsen lounges, but under the new policy, smoking will be banned in all indoor areas except cabin balconies and specially designated areas on open-air decks. The decision was made in response to a survey of current and past passengers. The policy will be phased in as follows:
Boudicca, Black Prince, and Braemar will be smoke free from their first sailings in January, while Black Watch and Balmoral will adopt the no indoor smoking rule when they each complete their 2009 world cruises, that’s April for Black Watch and May for Balmoral.
