Cunard’s 2011 World Voyages offer an east-west passage on the Queen Mary 2, sailing from New York. It’s the ship’s fourth world cruise and has some interesting new features. She’ll start in classic style, sailing from New York to Fort Lauderdale before visiting the Caribbean and South America, including Barbados, Brazil and Uruguay. Then she heads for Cape Town, South Africa.
After Cape Town she sails to Mauritius and on to Australia, New Zealand, Guam, China and Japan, Vietnam, Singapore, Thailand, India, Dubai and Egypt, transiting the Suez Canal to visit Italy, Monaco, Spain and a final stop in Southampton to complete the tour, before returning to New York after a 103 night trip!
Alternatively P&O’s Aurora has a 104 night world voyage starting from Southampton, travelling south into the Mediterranean, then visiting Egypt and the Middle East, over to India and through the Indian Ocean before crossing to Vietnam, Hong Kong, Japan and China, then hard south to Australia, where Aurora has nine port calls before travelling to Thailand, the Seychelles and Mauritius and then South Africa.
