London Cruise Show

In a cruise show held at ExCel of London, Darwin Wiggett, a North American photographer has been awarded with 2008 Travel photographer of the year. He got this prize as his magnificent photographs of Canadian landscapes were collectively selected by the judging panel. Along with the title, he has received a technorama camera suiting well with this photography and a gallant tour to Ganges river situated in India in the year of 2009.

The applications for entries were received from the photographers of 61 countries, among which the photographers of about 33 national were short listed and went down to final judging panel.

In another category, Daniel Rooney of United Kingdom was entitled with the Young Travel Photographer of the year while an American photojournalist named Charlie Mahoney was the overall winner of Life Portfolio category, he has also won New talent category award in the year of 2007.

The wildlife portfolio category was carved by Andrew Peacock of Australia with a breathtaking scenery of white and black icebergs and mountains.

In the judging panel, the individuals include Ian Farrel (professional photographer and editor), Caroline Metcalfe (Conde Nast traveler and picture editor), author and famous wildlife photographer Chris Weston, Simon Bainbridge (editor of British Journal of Photography) and imaging specialists Terry Steeley and Mark Bannister.
