Carnival Cruise Lines Sail from Seattle in 2010

All Seattle residents have something to cherish about. The Carnival Cruise Lines will start sailing out of Seattle in 2010. The Cruise lines will sail for Alaska Cruises which is the first time that popular Cruise line will base a ship in Seattle. The Carnival Spirit having the capacity of 2, 124 passengers will sail from Seattle port every Tuesday that would start in May 2010. It would be seven-day round trip cruises to Southeast Alaska.

This midweek plan has been adjusted as a boon for the Port of Seattle. That is because the major cruise ships hitting the port depart or arrive on Fridays, Saturday and Sundays. Now the crowd would be spread throughout the week uniformly. Seattle has two major Cruise terminals - Smith Cove Cruise Terminal at Pier 91 and Bell Street Pier Cruise Terminal. The former is a new terminal that opens on April 24, 2009.

The new cruise line is expected to enhance the cruise opportunity for residents of Seattle who have shown great interest in cruise lines and luxuries. Bill Bryant the Commission President said that Seattle today is a major home port for cruise ships and hence such an initiative is a good stride towards cruising industry. It is expected that nearly 211 cruise ships calls in Seattle this season and the new opening in 2010 will add another crown to the booming cruise line.
