Celebrity Announce Godmother for Celebrity Equinox

Celebrity Cruises has announced that Nina Barough, CBE will be the godmother for the new Celebrity cruise liner which will launch in July. Ms Barough is the founder of the breast cancer foundation, Walk the Walk which has raised more than fifty million pounds through its annual walking events in which many women take part wearing fantastically decorated bras to celebrate overcoming cancer or to commemorate a loved one who has died of it.

Ms Barough will christen Celebrity Equinox, which will be Celebrity’s second Solstice-class ship, in Southampton on July 29th. One fascinating feature of the formal christening ceremony is that the Corning Museum of Glass, which provides glass blowing and moulding shows on both Solstice class ships, is making a special bottle for the Champagne smash.
