A man travelling with his wife on the Transocean Cruises ship, Marco Polo, has died, apparently of norovirus. The man, according to a police spokesman in Invergordon, had underlying health problems as well as having contracted the virus.
Marco Polo has four hundred passengers making a round Britain cruise, and several of them have apparently been taken to hospital in Inverness. Tests are being conducted to confirm the nature of their illness.
