US Coast Guard rescues child

Two days ago the U.S. Coast Guard service was called to the assistance of a young child that had been injured in a fall. The incident happened on board Celebrity Infinity which was sailing just under a hundred miles west of Juneau, Alaska at the time. A helicopter was launched from Air Station Sitka and the crew used a hoist to lift the infant and one parent on board, before taking them to hospital in Alaska. Today, child's condition is said to be stable.

Infinity as been one of Celebrity’s more controversial cruise liners. While some people love her, others complain that service is slow and that on many cruises the novel pod propulsion system has caused repeated breakdowns, delays and even cancellations.
