Nina Barough CBE, founder of ‘Walk the Walk’, launched Celebrity Equinox, in Southampton this week. The massive bottle of champagne, custom-created by The Corning Museum of Glass smashed satisfyingly on the hull of the 2,850 passenger ship. Barough was chosen as Godmother to the ship for her charity work in raising awareness of breast cancer and her success in fund-raising, primarily through the night-time marathon and half marathon walks in London, Edinburgh, Bristol and Newcastle which are attended by thousands.
Celebrity Equinox went straight into an inaugural Norwegian Fjords cruise and will then begin a true maiden sailing to the Mediterranean.
