Norwegian Cruise Line’s Norwegian Epic won’t actually reach our shores until June 2010, but news is already leaking out about what will be available on the new ship.
She’ll carry 4,200 passengers, and today, September 16th 2009, is the day that members of NCL’s loyalty programme, Latitudes, have the chance to preview and book her first cruise, which will sail from Southampton to New York on a seven night trip. This inaugural cruise opens to the general public for booking tomorrow.
On of the most exciting revelations about Norwegian Epic revolves around the entertainment on board – the Blue Man Group will be putting on one of their multi-media shows on the first cruise, and this is something that has never been seen on a cruise before. There will also be the world’s first ever, Big Top at sea, comprising of a 265 seat theatre in the round, in which guests can enjoy Cirque Dreams and Dinner, a combination dining, acrobatic and arial display. There’s also the abseiling wall, which is a cruise first and a squash court.
The cabins are pretty novel too, modern, there are curved New Wave staterooms and the largest Villas complex at sea of 60 suites and villas on two private decks at the top of the ship and The Studios which have exclusive access to the Living Room; and spa and family-friendly accommodation too.
