Comparing celebrity chef cruises

Just about every cruise line now has a celebrity chef on board, or planning their menus. If food is really important to you – and what is a holiday without great food – then it’s worth comparing the various gastronomic offerings on cruise lines to work out which will give you the best plateful of satisfaction

Gary Rhodes is linked to P&O – he has a fish restaurant on Arcadia and he actually sails on board at least three times a year, to cook for customers. The best news about this deal is that while the restaurant is a premium one, specially designed to his own requirements, you only have to pay a £15 premium to eat in it!

But Rhodes is not the only top chef who sails with P&O – Marco Pierre White has The White Room on Ventura, Café Bordeaux on Aurora and Café Jardin on Oceana. Once again, the really good news about the restaurants linked to the fiery chef is that you pay only a £20 supplement to dine there, while most of us probably wouldn’t think of eating in a Marco Pierre White restaurant ashore because it’s so expensive.

Todd English, who is American, was chosen as the celeb chef for Cunard. He’s one of America’s most famous chefs and he has restaurants on Queen Mary 2 and Queen Victoria. You pay a £30 supplement to dine in them.
