Aurora jinx strikes again

Seven passengers have now been confirmed as contracting a potentially deadly strain of hepatitis while on board the Aurora. Investigations are underway, seeking out passengers who had been aboard the Aurora but weren’t struck down with the illness because hundreds of the 1,800 holidaymakers who took part in a world cruise now need to undergo tests to see if they contracted the illness on board the P&O vessel The victims turned yellow and suffered sickness and diarrhoea and later all tested positive for Hepatitis E. Hepatitis is a form of severe liver inflammation and it’s commonplace in developing countries where it is passed on through contaminated food or water supplies. The problem is that symptoms can take up to two months to appear. It is fatal in two per cent of cases. The Aurora has been hit by a series of jinxes since it was launched by Princess Anne in 2000 when the champagne failed to smash, often considered a bad omen.
