‘Oasis of the Seas’ is the winning entry in Royal Caribbean’s “Name that Ship” competition. George Weiser of Livonia, Michigan submitted the winning combination of names, Oasis of the Seas and Allure of the Seas. Weiser’s well thought out names scored highly amongst the panel of judges. “Our customers are remarkably passionate about Royal Caribbean,” said Adam Goldstein, President and CEO, Royal Caribbean International. When launched in 2009, Oasis of the Seas will be the largest and most innovative cruise ship in the world. She will incorporate 16 decks, weigh an incredible 220 000 gross tons and carry 5400 guests, making are an absolute floating architectural marvel. This fantastic cruise ship is set to cost more then $1 billion. Her homeport will be Port Everglades in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. In 2010 she will be joined by her sister ship Allure of the Seas.
