If you need to think twice about your holiday budget this year, consider the benefits of the round trip cruise. Round trips are cruises that start and finish in one city. The alternative is when a ship sails out of one port and finishes the cruise in another, which means you need a flight that takes you from your home city to port A then when your cruises finishes, flies you from port B home, which is nearly always more expensive than a simple return ticket to and from the same two cities. Another consideration is that you often get a very good deal on hotel rooms if you book a return ticket, which means you can extend your cruise by a day or two (get there early if you can, and have plenty of time to make it to the port, it’s always possible for bad weather or some other reason to delay your flight and mean you miss your embarkation date) for only a few pounds.
