Royal Caribbean Project Genesis

Royal Caribbean Cruises has gone beyond just having a green space on cruise ships. The first of the next generation of RCI ships will have a whole tropical garden based on New York's Central Park with restaurants, a wine bar, an art gallery and other trendy innovations, and over 300 staterooms will have views overlooking this central green hub. Project Genesis will be the world's largest cruise ship – a title that’s changing hands about every six months at present - carrying 5,400 passengers and will launch in autumn 2009. The Central Park area is the first of seven ‘neighbourhoods’ to be unveiled for Project Genesis and her sister ship, to be launched in 2010, will have a different city theme, the hot money is on it being either Barcelona or Rio de Janeiro.
