Independence of the Seas facilities

Like most superliners, Independence of the Seas has a range of facilities including the by now almost standard ice rink, a surfing simulator and a whole street of boutiques and restaurants. The recently launched cruise ship can carry 5,700 people and in addition to passengers she carries a forty-three foot climbing wall, a gym, a running track, a sports deck and even on-board surfing in a forty good pool that generates its own waves. The main dining room can seat 2,101 people at a time and eight other restaurants offer everything from Italian food to American diner fare, while bars range from a traditional British pub – somewhat less than traditionally named the Dog and Badger (not a good combination in real life!) to the vibrantly decorated Egyptian-themed Pyramid Lounge.
