Whacky Cruise Insurance Claims

Holidays don't always go without a hitch and cruise holidays can be more fraught with unexpected happenings than many others, but it’s amazing what people actually claim for on their holiday insurance.

One unlucky pensioner who until then had been enjoying a Mediterranean cruise, lost his toupee after a gust of wind lifted it off his head and blew it in to the sea! His travel insurance reimbursed him for the cost of his hairpiece.

Another unlucky Brit had a double dose of the miseries. Sailing through the notoriously choppy waters of the Bay of Biscay, his false teeth fell out and over the side of the ship while he was throwing up!

A cruise passenger on an excursion had her handbag stolen, and then admitted to the police that the thief might get a shock, as she’d moved some prescription strength haemorrhoid cream into an old moisturiser container from a premium brand! She was able to claim for her make-up, perfume … and a replacement prescription item!
