Regent Seven Seas expands

Regent Seven Seas, has begun the process of receiving bids to build a brand new ultra-luxury cruise ship for its line.

The new vessel will have a projected capacity of about eight hundred passengers and is expected to have an entire deck devoted to a luxury spa and ‘garden’ area.

Regent Seven Seas currently operate four small to mid-sized luxury cruise ships and have carved out a niche for themselves in the small-scale luxury market, combining excellent service and facilities with the ability to visit smaller and less well-known ports. A decision on the bids is expected in September with delivery planned for late 2011 or early 2012. The new vessel will be an all-balcony, all-suite vessel and standard cabins 400 square feet and it will have more restaurants than other liners in the fleet.
