Getting a last minute deal

Last minute cruise deals can be a superb idea, if you’re fairly adventurous and don’t mind not knowing where you’ll be going and what you’ll be doing. There are pluses and minuses to this approach:

Plus • You can save up to 50% on the cost of a holiday, and/or negotiate extras like full board for half board price • You can find places that would normally be out of your price range suddenly become affordable in the last couple of weeks before sailing day • It’s exciting to book on the spur of the moment!

Minus • You may still have to sort out passports and visas and the time frame available can make that difficult to impossible to organise • The cabins on offer may be the least attractive on the ship • You don’t get much time to research destinations before you travel. If this sounds like something you’d like to try, you need to watch the websites of the cruise lines, or deal with a specialist agency that will ring you when last minute offers are available.
