Solo travel can be fun, but for many people whose New Year’s resolution was to find love or at least companionship, the singles cruise holiday might offer a solution to their problem.

Gills Cruises say they have a special set of offers for single passengers, their webpage simply says they will be showing offers ‘soon’ which is rather disappointing.

Over in the USA - Singles Travel International has a singles Baja Weekend Getaway Cruise for the 30s to 40s aboard Royal Caribbean's Monarch of the Seas, leaving Los Angeles on February 29 and returning on March 3. Prices start at $339 (£150) with a single supplement of $170 (£85 - and am I the only person who finds it odd to have a singles supplement on a singles cruise?). The holiday features a welcome aboard party, a happy hour club, singles-only seating, singles-only land tours, a singles farewell party and a visit to Ensenada, Mexico.
