The MIM Group has launched a new initiative - International Medical Tourism India (ITMPL) to put together holiday/surgery packages for inbound tourists. It already has a panel of a dozen doctors including senior cardiologists from Lilavati Hospital and the Asian Heart Institute.
ITMPL is in discussions with international hospitals about bringing their patients to Indian hospitals for treatment and organising travel itineraries for family members of the patients in question. The company already has a separate division called MIS Global which offers cruise holiday packages, working with Carnival Cruises by marketing their offers in India - it’s in talks with several other cruise companies for a similar deal, which will include offering meal options to suit the Indian cultural matrix, such as vegetarian and Jain meals. One fascinating potential market is to offer Indian weddings on board ship!
