Van Gogh, the cruise ship operated by Gloucester-based Travelscope until the company went bankrupt late last year, has been given a chance to sail again.
Netherlands-based Club Cruise, which originally chartered the ship to Travelscope, announced on Monday that it has created a new UK Tour Division to be based in Cheltenham. It will be called Van Gogh Cruises and it will market and operate the Van Gogh.
Club Cruise are keen to remain in the UK market, having established a loyal and committed following over the past decade. Bookings for the 2008 programme are already off to an excellent start, because many passengers had made bookings through the ship’s previous operator and travel agents and are thrilled to discover they will be able to continue with their holidays plans. Club Cruise has decided to continue with the itineraries as previously advertised, to ensure no passengers are let down by the collapse of the previous operator.
