When Carnival Fantasy goes into dry dock in the autumn for a refit, the most exciting new feature that will be added to the super-liner is a huge aqua park featuring a 100 metre long water slide, an exclusive adults-only area, and a totally redesigned resort-style main pool. This makeover is phase two of Carnival Cruise line’s Evolutions of Fun, which is a £125 million ship refurbishment plan for the line's eight 70,000-ton Fantasy-class vessels.

At the heart of Carnival Fantasy’s refurbished Verandah Deck will be Carnival WaterWorks, and along with the slide already mentioned, there are plans for a fifty metre dual-lane racing slide, and various water spray fixtures to give a thrilling ride. Aft of this will be Serenity, an exclusive adults-only outdoor retreat for relaxation, tranquillity and comfort including bar service of a selection of icy cocktails and frozen concoctions. A thatched roof will cover one of the two whirlpools while fake palm trees will further enhance the tropical ambience.
