Cruising in Darwin’s footsteps with Discovery Initiatives

Discovery Initiatives has chartered two small yachts in the Galapagos region to undertake three ten day long Galapagos cruises in partnership with the Galapagos Conservation Trust.

The cruises will be hosted by the Charles Darwin Research Station to offer a special and unique insight into the famous scientist, the Islands and the organisation that was founded to conserve the wildlife of the Galapagos.

By combining visits to the more remote island visits with insight into the extraordinary wildlife, the research and giant tortoise breeding programmes of the Research Station, visitors will have an unparalleled chance to learn about the role of science in preserving natural habitats as well as being able to meet the experts who have dedicated themselves to preserving this natural paradise.

Special tours including an optional hike up the famous Sierra Negra volcano, or a visit to some of the few remaining wild tortoises on Isabela island. All funds raised from these cruises will be given to the Charles Darwin Research Station’s Herbarium section. From £4,685 per person all inclusive.
