Less than half, according to recent research published by MSC cruises. This is surprising, given that a honeymoon is a pretty expensive investment - 47% of those surveyed spent more than £1,000 on their honeymoon, 15% spent over £3,000, with one per cent splashing out over £10,000!

The range of experiences possible on a cruise would also suggest that it should be a more popular option, as many couples wanted to have more than one kind of experience or activity during this most important of all holidays. In fact, there was an interesting divide between first and second time honeymooners - combination holidays proved much more popular with this group, over 33% hoped to visit the beaches and enjoy some other activity. More than half (56%) would prefer to leave the children at home to enjoy their second honeymoon as a couple – whilst only a fifth would like to enjoy their honeymoon as a family …
