Princess Cruises has noticed a surge in baby-boomer passengers on its Round Australia expeditions and, the cruise line says, around two-thirds of passengers aged over 55 who have booked on the month-long voyages are new to cruising, reflecting the growing interest in longer, premium cruise holidays from this age group.
This, Princess claims, is because the longer cruises on luxury ships offer all the ingredients this age group looks for in an exceptional holiday: exceptional service and accommodation, great food and entertainment, and plenty of time to relax.
Princess Cruises has scheduled another three circumnavigations for the 2008/09 summer to keep pace with demand. The cruises, which depart from both Sydney and Melbourne, visit 13 of Australia’s most beautiful coastal destinations and last for 28 nights.
