Splendor’s Godmother will be Myleene Klass

British singer and classical musician Myleene Klass will be Godmother to Carnival Splendor (shame they couldn’t give it the British spelling if it’s having a British Godmother) so she’s following in some illustrious footsteps – recent godmothers to other ships include The Duchess of Cornwall and Dame Helen Mirren. And Carnival has a bit of a thing for British Godmothers – in the past they’ve chosen Dame Judi Dench who named Carnival Legend.

Following the naming ceremony on July 10th in Dover, Carnival Splendor will depart on a three-day cruise to Amsterdam. The ship will then sail the line's first ever Northern Europe cruises before moving to the more traditional the Western Mediterranean.
