Ventura’s bars and clubs

There’s a head to head battle going on in cruise shop entertainment – getting the best people, the best acts and the best interiors to attract the high-spending repeat cruise passenger is vital.

All the new ships have complex evening entertainment packages and Ventura is the first to unveil hers. P&O have gone for a multicultural theme with bars called Havana and Tamarind, Metropolis and Ramblas. The rich fabrics and colours of the Indian subcontinent provide the inspiration for Tamarind Club on Deck 7.

Sometimes this is a little confusing – it makes perfect sense that The Tamarind Club would turn out to be a drinks lounge inspired by the Indian sub-continent, but there doesn’t; seem to be any logic to why it is also Ventura’s Comedy Club? Not only that, during the day it’s going to be the venue for salsa-dancing classes which surely would make more sense if they were located in Havana or even Ramblas? But never mind, the spaces themselves are very stylish and the range of entertainment on offer is surely enough to please everyone.
