Today, emergency services are trying to free a trapped crew member from the hull of Saga Rose. Two male crew were reported missing in the ship's ballast tanks earlier today 11th June, and emergency services, backed up by four units from Southampton fire stations joined Hampshire's Urban Search Rescue team and paramedics to help with the rescue.
Within an hour one of the men was freed from the ballast area of the hull. The second man was later found passed out but wearing special breathing apparatus. While one of the men was taken to Southampton General Hospital by ambulance, the second remains onboard as rescue teams are continuing to try to extricate him.
