Princess Cruises has launched an iPod revolution: do-it-yourself iPod walking tours for a dozen European ports. At the cost of around £15 passengers receive a map showing the best route between specific attractions and an iPod filled with tour information about each site listed on the map. This means they can wander at their own pace and linger as long as they like, or miss out stops that don’t appeal to them. It’s available for: Barcelona, Amalfi, Cannes, Capri, Corfu, Dubrovnik, Florence, Lisbon, Monte Carlo, Mykonos, Pisa, Portofino, Rhodes, Rome and Sorrento. iPods can be picked up tour office on before disembarking and returned at the end of the day – travellers have to give a credit card number as a security deposit.
