Best lines for first time cruisers. Well, it’s hard to say which will please anybody best, but there are some cruise lines that specialise in pleasing the first time cruiser. Here are some ideas to help you decide who to pick for your first cruise holiday. • Ocean Village: it’s claimed that more than 50% of Ocean Village travellers are taking their first cruise. They are attracted by the relaxed approach to holidaymaking such as self-service breakfast, lunch and dinner and the fact that ere are no formal dinners, in fact there’s no dress codes. It’s a big family favourite too. • Island Cruises – This is another line that has around 45% of first time cruise takers on its vessels. Again it’s known for its laid back attitude, self-service meals and no formal dressing, you’ll find a predominantly British passenger list here. • Norwegian Cruise Line – An American favourite, perhaps because every ship has around ten restaurants, think bright, think happy and you’ll know what this line offers – it’s a holiday resort on the ocean waves. • MSC Cruises – A largely Italian passenger intake here, and while the food is good, service can be a little unpredictable – European families really love the friendly atmosphere on these ships though
