In preparation for National Cruise Week, the Midlands Co-op Travel has announced that their research shows that the average price of the cruise holidays they sell has increased by £110 per passenger year-on-year. It’s not clear how many years this increase has been taking place, nor how it relates to their claim that sales of luxury cruises have risen 50%, but it does bear out some findings from the cruise industry as a whole.
Online cruise retailers are discovering that despite the recession, there’s a desire to book cruise holidays that offer luxury experiences such as spa days, breakfast on the balcony and trips into new and exciting coastal venues. It seems that once Brits decide to book a holiday, they won’t settle for second best and invest in the most exciting and luxurious cruise they can afford.
It also shows that cruise holidays are good value for those who want the best deal for their money and the best experiences for their loved ones. This is because a cruise holiday has more included extras, more destinations, more free entertainment and more top-class facilities, than most resorts. The only problem can be choosing from the range of cruises available!
