Legend of the Seas in Hong Kong

Next years, Royal Caribbean’s Legend of the Seas will be home-porting in Hong Kong from February, to coincide with the Chinese New Year holiday celebrations. Legend of the Seas is sailing on four different itineraries – the shortest of five nights and the longest of fourteen. The ports on offer are equally varied, ranging Hualien, Taipei Hue, Halong Bay, Nagasaki, Seoul and Sanya. There’s a dedicated five-night cruise to Taipei and Okinawa which finishes up in Shanghai and the fourteen night cruise takes in many of the famous ports of the region as well as introducing travellers to new gems. Legend of the Seas carries more than 2,000 passengers and in addition to the spectacular ports, holidaymakers can enjoy a range of entertainment including a miniature golf course and the signature rock-climbing wall. Dining choices are similarly varied, although many of the staff on board have recently been trained in Asian culture and the ship’s menus have been revised to offer a good range of Chinese food in restaurants and diners as well as on the room service menu.

Hong Kong has become a popular hub for cruise lines because it has a state of the art new cruise terminal, which will soon be visited by the world’s largest ever cruise ship, Oasis of the Seas. The Chinese New Year celebrations are famous throughout the world but those held in Hong Kong are particularly lavish and impressive.
