Bargain Baltic Cruise

Saga Pearl 2 has a fourteen night Baltic Treasures cruise from Dover leaving on May 13th 2011. With the by now classic three day stopover in St Petersburg, this may not look like the cheapest cruise around, especially as you have to pay for drinks and excursions, but the price of £1,546 includes travel insurance, all gratuities and either free or reduced cost UK transfers on return. Those excursions are remarkably cheap, as are the drinks – wine by the glass from £2.75 is a real bargain – and as you don’t get obligatory tips added to bar prices, you pay for what you get.

There are so me classic features: afternoon tea and dinner dances, but so me surprising innovations to this refitted older ship. For example, and very much with the older passenger in mind, there are sixty single cabins, the highest ratio of single to couple cabins in the industry. There are 126 twin cabins and 42 doubles with 25 ‘larger’ cabins that can be either twin or king sized.
