Dancing Cruise Competition

If you’re a fan of TV's Strictly Come Dancing you’ll probably know that Thomson cruises already runs its own ballroom dancing competition on its ships. Now P&O Cruises has really upped the stakes – passengers sailing on a round dozen of its winter cruises will be eligible to compete for a chance to dance as part of the ceremony that launches the new P&O ship Azura in 2010. The ship is going to be notable for her entertainment, already we know she will offer 12 bars and lounges featuring everything from a classic London pub ambience to champagne and caviar. Evening entertainment will also include the traditional West-End style shows and cabaret, live music, comedy and an outdoor cinema as well as dancing.

The competition heats will take place on each cruise, and the winners of each heat will be invited to a semi-final competition in Southampton on 9th April after which the six pairs of finalists will be spending the night onboard Azura to prepare for a dance-off in which the winners will be part of the celebrations for the actual naming ceremony on 10th April.
