P&O Grand Cruise takes in Alaska

It’s a fascinating itinerary, sailing on Arcadia, and taking 72 nights to visit 29 different destination. Even better, it sails from the UK, so there are no fly-cruise complications to deal with. Arcadia is a delight for gourmets – there’s Arcadian Rhodes, the restaurant created by Gary Rhodes which has a special focus on fish and seafood, or there’s The Orchid, serving a contemporary fusion of Oriental flavours. And there’s always relaxed dining in the Belvedere food court and out on deck. And because Arcadia is one of P&O’s child-free ships she has an elegant ambience which is enhanced by more than 3,000 artworks displayed around the ship and by talks and presentations by Tate Britain staff.

On the Grand Cruise, Arcadia visits Madeira, Antigua, Tortola, St. Maarten, St. Lucia, Barbados, Aruba, transits the Panama Canal and continues on to Puntarenas, Huatulco, Acapulco, San Francisco, Vancouver, Victoria, Juneau, Skagway, Yakutat Bay, College Fjord, Whittier, Tracy Arm, Ketchikan, Seattle, Los Angeles. Then back through the Panama Canal to Limon, Roatan, Cozumel, Port Everglades, Port Canaveral, Charleston, New York, Newport, Boston, Ponta Delgada and finally on 23rd June 2011 back to Southampton.
