SeaDream Baltic offering

From summer 2011 Seadream will be offering cruises to the Baltic and Norway The newly revealed itineraries feature the line's first journey up the Thames to Tower Bridge on 112-passenger SeaDream I. Then she will sail to Germany for a three-week dry dock for repairs and refits and on June 1st she’ll begin the first of two Norwegian fjords itineraries followed by four to the Baltic.

There’s a fantastic excursion on offer - SeaDream's owner, Atle Brynestad, has said that he will hold parties in his own garden for the guests and crew taking part in the Norwegian sailings. His summer home in Lillesand is on a small island and there will be a barbecue and garden tour to celebrate SeaDream’s first visit to its owner’s home country.

The voyages are carefully planned to try and make the best of good weather because the SeaDream ships, while luxurious, are small and lack the indoor facilities offered by large cruise liners – so if it’s cold or windy there is not that much for passengers to do. But there are advantages too: the smaller ships can get into the most tiny ports, so, for example, when in St Petersburg SeaDream I will be able to moor right in the heart of the city instead of being outside in the commercial port that is used by larger cruise ships. SeaDream is interested in building a customer base in northern Europe and hopes to have a ship sailing to London in 2012 to coincide with the London Olympics.
