New York winter base for Norwegian Gem

On 12th December Norwegian Gem, Norwegian Cruise Lines newest cruise ship, returns to New York for her winter cruise season.

She’ll be sailing seven-day cruises to the Bahamas and Florida and 10-day Eastern Caribbean cruises leaving from the Manhattan Cruise Terminal in the very heart of New York City. The first sailing, on 12th December, will be the first of ten seven day cruises visiting Orlando (Port Canaveral), Florida; Great Stirrup Cay (Norwegian’s private island) and Nassau, Bahamas – subsequent cruises on this itinerary run between December 2009 and April 2010, But there will also be the tend day cruises, the first of which leaves on 3rd January 2010 and they will visit: San Juan, Puerto Rico; St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands; St. John’s, Antigua; Philipsburg, St. Maarten and Tortola, British Virgin Islands. In between those cruises, there will be two one-night cruises, which are aimed at those who just one a tiny break or are keen to try out Freestyle cruising before committing to a longer break, and they sail on January 2nd and 23rd 2010. Gem offers13 dining options including Cagney’s Steakhouse, and Norwegian’s signature French restaurant, Le Bistro, then there are 13 bars and lounges and a bowling alley, a two-story Wii wall, two swimming pools and six hot tubs. For families of all sizes, Norwegian Gem offers a large number of staterooms, as well as suites and mini-suites that can be interconnected to form two-, three-, four- or five-bedroom areas. After the winter sailings Norwegian Gem will spend her summer in Europe sailing from Venice on a series of seven-day Greek Isles and seven-day Adriatic, Greece and Turkey cruises.
