Oceania Cruises new ship sneak peek

In winter 2011, Oceania Cruises will launch its newest ship, Marina. Her luxury suites are truly luxurious, being completely outfitted with furniture, fixtures and fabrics the Ralph Lauren Home collection.

Oceania Cruises president said ‘To appeal to discerning travellers we wanted the best suites on Marina to feel like a luxurious estate home. We thought out-of-the box, insisted on the finest craftsmanship and sought out the most talented residential designers.’ Oceania’s Marina will carry 1,258 cruise passengers in style, with the public rooms featuring rich wooden inlays and fixtures, marble and granite details, fine wool carpets and lustrous leather seating. There are ten dining areas, six of which are open-seating gourmet restaurants, plus a range of bars and lounges, a full-service Canyon Ranch SpaClub and fitness centre, swimming pool and hot tubs.

The three ‘Owner’s Suites’ have wood panelled walls with statues in mirrored niches, black velvet carpeting and a mahogany bar. A jet black ‘baby grand’ piano serves as the room's focal point although there are also living and dining rooms, 42 inch flat-screen TVs, a mahogany dining table and chairs for six, and wraparound teak-covered verandas. The finishing touches to this grand experience are provided by the ‘grand boudoir’ a marble, six-fixture master bathroom with a separate shower and large soaking tub along with mahogany fixtures.
