Cunard Line lecturers

The Cunard Line is famous for the quality of lecturers it manages to entice on board its ships and in 2010 it has a stellar roster of top speakers.

On Queen Mary 2, which offers the ‘Insights’ programme of guest lecturers, cruise passengers can look forward to hearing from:

1. Human rights campaigner Archbishop Desmond Tutu, winner, in 1984, of the Nobel Peace Prize

2. Author and broadcaster Bill Bryson OBE who recently became President of the Campaign to Protect Rural England

3. John Humphreys, acerbic and politically astute voice of BBC Radio 4's 'Today' programme

4. British comedy script writers Dick Clement and Ian le Frenais whose classic TV comedies include: The Likely Lads, Whatever Happened to the Likely Lads?, Porridge and Auf Wiedersehen, Pet as well as writing the screenplay for the film The Commitments

5. Psychosexual therapist and TV show host Dr Ruth, famous in the USA for her open and sometimes controversial discussions of human relationships and sexuality.

On Queen Victoria speakers will include:

Crusading former independent MP Martin Bell Martin Bell, OBE who is a British UNICEF Ambassador, and a former broadcast war reporter and Former ITN Royal Correspondent Nicholas Owen
