Carnival Cruise Lines returns to Europe too

Carnival Cruise Lines is also to return to Europe in 2011. Following a three year hiatus, Carnival Magic, the sister ship to Carnival Dream, will be launched in May 2011 and she goes straight into European service.

Carnival Magic will be based in Barcelona, and will sail the Mediterranean on a range of seven, nine and 12 day cruises: The seven-night cruises will visit Monte Carlo, Monaco; and Livorno, Rome (Civitavecchia), Naples and Messina, Italy.

The nine-night tours have an itinerary that covers Marseilles, France, Monte Carlo; Livorno, Rome (Civitavecchia), Naples, and Messina; and Palma de Mallorca, Spain.

Finally the twelve-night ‘Grand Mediterranean’ voyages take in either Monte Carlo or Marseilles; Livorno, Rome (Civitavecchia), and Naples; Dubrovnik Venice (which includes an overnight call) and Messina.

Carnival Magic has a capacity of 3,652 passengers in 1,823 cabins. She’s got a top speed of nearly 23 knots and has many of the features that have already appeared on her sister ship, such as: the 11,250-square-foot adults-only Serenity area, the Seaside Theatre, a large spa called ‘Cloud 9’, the WaterWorks aqua park with a 303-foot-long, four-deck-high corkscrew waterslide and immense family cabins designed to accommodate five people. There’s also more outdoor deck space than has been seen on other Carnival ships and the Ocean Plaza indoor/outdoor entertainment complex.
