Silver Whisper to Norwegian Fjords

Sometimes, less is most definitely more. With just 396 passengers accommodated in all suite, outside accommodation, the 28,000 ton Silver Whisper had space and style in droves. She is an all inclusive ship, one where the champagne flows free from the moment you embark until that last, champagne breakfast on the aft facing terrace before you disembark.

From the 'basic' balcony suites right up to the opulent penthouses, the accommodation is so lavish that you could spend your entire cruise in your room, and still have the time of your life. There's an entire, in suite entertainment system and a separate living area; a walk in wardrobe and a bed dressed in 100% Egyptian cotton sheets.

Naturally, the bathroom walls are sheathed in sheet marble. The towels are fluffy and enormous, and the bathrobes are, too. You could eat breakfast on the balcony at sunrise, and enjoy cocktails out there at sunset. The rooms are little mini-worlds in themselves. Did I mention the 24/7 room service menu?

Inside, there are no lines for anything. The Restaurant, the main dining room, is open seating for all main meals, and the food is sublime. Service from the European trained staff is simply flawless throughout the ship, from dawn till dusk. Low key, highly styled evening entertainment- think piano player, soft jazz and an occasional disco- ensures that the evenings are fun, civilised affairs.

The terrace of the upper deck Lido Buffet is a wonderful place to take an hour or more on over breakfast, with hot entrees cooked to order, and piping hot coffee on tap. At night, it converts into the reservations only, Italian themed La Terrazza, though there is no actual extra charge to dine here.

Pod beds and sun loungers are dotted around the large outdoor pool, with its pair of hot tubs, bar and grill area that serves up minute steaks, burgers, and other comfort food. You'll never have to look for somewhere comfortable to slouch, sit or sprawl. And god forbid that you should ever actually have to stand in line for anything here, either.
